View Full Version : Houstonian down on 51 today?

Any word on who this guy is and how he is doing?

When John arrived at the ER, his treatment was delayed for an incoming careflight victim. Turns out it was a fellow sportbiker in pretty bad shape. They had left Cresson and were in Area 51, when they came to the very tricky, slightly off-camber turn just North of the slow speed dip and turn. I think this might be the same turn, or at least same general area, where Ric Martin's SV met it's end. The rider, a guy from Houston on a gixxer1K, apparently picked the worst place to loose it. He went straight into a concrete culvert or slabbed drainage ditch or something. He was in very bad shape and had to be airlifted out. I spoke with one of his riding buddies who is from the mid-cities area. He said that the initial damage report included both femurs very badly broken, broken jaw, and he made it sound as if there were some serious complications/additional things. He was wearing gear, but just found the worst possible thing to stop his momentum. It definitely sounded like he was in pretty bad shape. Please remember this fellow sportbike brother in your thoughts and prayers, as I'm sure he and his family face a long struggle ahead. And maybe think twice before heading to Area 51 since the LEOs in attendance commented on the frequency of this type of event there (I would suspect increased enforcement would be likely).

I don't know who it would have been...Especially without some partial name. So this was just outside of Cresson...I have no idea where this area 51 is in the DFW area.

It happened roughly 1/2 mile south of 205 on 51 in Glen Rose. That's all I know. I hope he's OK.

I got this via e-mail - it may be the same person.

>Your Organizer, Frank Bedra, sent the following message to the
members of The Houston Sport Bikes Meetup Group:

following message sent to me, I know we all are hoping he is
back on his feet soon!

Hey Frank, A fellow Houston/Spring Sport Bike member Jason
(jridgeback) was this weekend. Can you send a
message to the Houston Members asking them to post a get well
and prayer message on the boards?

Over the weekend Jason (Jridgeback) was involved in a serious
accident south of Fort Worth. I am not sure how many of you
have met him, but if you are interested in sending him a get
well wish, please send me an e-mail and I will be happy to pass
it along. Please keep Jason in your prayers and I will update
you guys as soon and I can get some more details of his progress.

You can also post your prayers and get well wishes on our
message board...
