Here I am minding my own business driving along when an old woman in a 2003 Lincoln Town Car decides to get a close up of my truck. She ran the stop sign and she was moving...I hit the gas to try to miss getting hit but no luck. She hit me with such force that my body dented the inside of the door which messed up the window mechinism and the door lock. My head hit the window and I was knocked out for a little bit. But I got checked out at the hospital and I am fine as far as internal injuries. However, my whole body is killing me. Mainly my shoulders.

March 16th, 2004, 10:17 AM
That Sucks!!! When you got checked out did they x-ray your shoulders? Probably just sprained if you had the death grip on the steering wheel, but might want to make sure they are not separated/dislocated.

Yeah the shoulders are ok...just really sore...
My head is still killing me though...major migranes

Start a diary. Times. Aches. Pains. Everything you right down is worth bucks.

Pictures are good too. Bruises, cuts, etc.

Sorry to hear about the accident.

March 16th, 2004, 10:36 AM
Dang Brian ... from the looks of it, that could have been a whole lot worse! Heal up quick!

March 16th, 2004, 10:46 AM
Brian, that sucks alot. Hopefully you will get better soon. Take the pain killers if they gave you some.

Better make her pay for that. Time lost off work (you are home right?), etc... I hate people who do not pay attention on what's going on around them. I got run off into the curb one time because some old lady in a Cadilac decided to change lanes into me when I was right next to her.

March 16th, 2004, 11:15 AM
holy crap, brian!

a foot closer to the front of the truck...

glad to see you're up and about, albeit painfully.

it's a good thing you were already a little brain damaged, though. otherwise, hitting your head against the window like that could have done some real damage... ;)

(KIDDING! JOKE! call off the dogs! :D )

Holy crumpled sheet metal Bat Man. And I thought I had it bad with the Suburban. Like it was said, keep a diary and all records. It will all help you later.

Glad to here your not as bad as it could have been. Those side impacts like that can tear the arteries to your hart and cause internal bleeding, but they would have known that by the time you got to the hospital.

Hope you get well soon and everything works out OK.

Aortic ruptures/ tears do not usually make it to the hospital anyway.
One note, next vehicle you may not want to add a supercharger to. If you would have left that off, you may have had traction to get out of the way instead of spinning tires! :D

This is next on the list and yes...unfortunantly it will have a supercharger too...The supercharger is said to give this car a top speed at over 200mph...I guess I will let my GPS tell me exactly what it will do.

How you gonna put a trailer hitch on that? Definitely can't haul nothing in the back of it. :D

after the necessary regearing (isn't 6th gear redline limited to the mid-180's, assuming you could pull it that far?), I'd bet you're looking at 600-700 whp to get there.

what does the aftercooled stillen stage 2 add to the vq? 100-125 whp? with 350-375 whp (and a fat torque curve courtesy of positive displacement supercharging), it'd be a fast car for sure, but I would think that you'd end up with a bit more than half the hp needed to pull an honest 200 mph.

After looking yesterday and test driving a few cars, I think I am going to go with the Infinity G35 Coupe Manual tranny with the Brembo brakes and the 18" wheels. The price difference is $1000.00 more but the insurance is $1200.00 less in a year than that of the 350Z. Go figure. I guess cause it is 12" longer and has a "qoute back seat" lol. But the engine is identical. It also is decked out with a sunroof (nissan cannot offer it due to the roofline) So All in all a better deal. As for the 200mph. I have no idea on actuality. But I do know that the gixxer was doing 160-165 indicated and the 350Z was right next to me. I was impressed. I also saw a papertagged one run at the strip and it turned a 13.63 in the 1/4mile...not too bad.

March 18th, 2004, 06:29 PM
The G35 is pretty bad ***. I think I'd go with one of them or a Maxima instead of the 350Z. Owning a sportbike makes sports cars seem weak in comparison so I'd rather have a little more luxury.

Then again I drive a Setra so what do I know. Its got the big four cylinder though.

Sentra Isn't that another way of saying "Passive speed restraint." :D

So Brian, are you saying the truck is history?

I'm not dissing the 350z, at all - it's plenty fast, and I think it's got great modding potential. I just don't know about that 200 mph claim with that particular s/c setup (and you sounded like you had your reservations, as well).

personally, though, I prefer the g35c. talk about looks and performance...

but I'll just have to keep window shopping, as I'm not planning to get rid of my cl-s any time soon.

Well I am almost 100% sure on them totalling the truck. Hell the adjuster is the one that said it based off of the information I gave him over the phone. They are coming over Friday to do the estimates. So I will know more then. As for the damage, here is the list...the driver side frame rail, the bed inner, the bed floor, the bed outer x2(both sides have significant damage), the rear bed wall, the tailgate, the rear axle is bent (jacked the rear up and put it in gear to verify) The cab inner, the cab outer, and 2 damaged wheels. So you do the math...the value of the truck is in the 13,000 range. The last estimate from the previous wreck was greater than $9000 nearing 10K and they fixed it at the time...It was near the total mark for the price of the repairs. The price that it would have taken it to total was $10500.00 Which was %70 of the total market value. All I can do is sit and wait though. If they do total it, I will be much more satisfied. I am not sure that I want a truck that has had 2 significant hits on it.

Dang Brian that sucks. You going to install the trick suspension on the car??

You HAVE to do it at least once. The problems are 1) You beat the ****e out of your new car and it's $200 tires, and 2) it's addictive. The next step down this road to financial ****ation is a race car, easily justified by 1&2 above. Been there, etc. Let me know when you get to that point. Also, let me know when you go to the track day and I'll hook you up with my friend who instructs with them. Enjoy!!

I like the silver. Now you've got the stress of waiting for the first enevitable door ding.

Well I got a glimpse of it this morning as I was getting on the Beltway just north of Westheimer. Must have a quiet interior because Brian didn't hear me honking my horn. smile.gif
