While I think the tire changer Randy makes are perfectly sound and nice to have, I used a Coats model 220 the other day that was just plain EASY. It is still a manual changer, but the way it is designed, it makes things so much better and easier to remove and install the new tires.
The price is usually around $200, but I think it is worth it. I will post some pics when I get some.
What do yall think?

I agree. The Coats is way better than home made. I thought they were more than $200 though. Maybe used?

new coats 220 changers run about $800 online.

as for used changers, I've seen way more ads for folks wanting to buy used 220s than I've ever seen for folks actually selling them...

if you know where to get a used 220 available for only $200, I'd say jump on that deal with both feet!

Both of you are correct, John Whitfill seemed to think that they were more readily available... I guess I need to do more research, or have him find it!
Still, even if it is $400 (used)... for club use, that would be a great deal as well. IMHO
