Posting my ex-roommate Sean's, bike. He found a really good deal on a Monster 750, so I finally talked him into selling the ZX6E that has been in my garage for the past couple of years. He purchased the bike with second gear problems and some minor road rash as his first bike. The bike had been stored outside and was a little neglected (things like tires, chain and a good wash and polish were despereately needed). But, it has turned out to be a pretty good ride for a first sportbike.

This bike would make a perfect first sportbike for someone. It makes its power very linearly and the clutch and power band are very forgiving from a stop. Not peaky like the newer 600s at all. The seat is also quite low and the riding position much more upright than many other 600s, so it makes for a good street ride. The seat height and riding position would work well for a shorter/female/newer rider, but are not at all cramped for taller riders either. I'm 6'3" and find it very comfortable - in fact I used it in the past for a couple of road trips since it was a much better sport tourer than my old ZX7R.

It is cosmetically a little rough with minor scrathes and scuffs on both sides from the previous owner. Nothing that couldn't be much improved for a couple hundred bucks by some careful eBaying or scrapyard searching, though. Mechanically it is very good. He had $1400 worth of work done by a Kawasaki shop after he purchased it, including a complete transmission rebuild, new clutch, and other items. The transmissions were notoriously week on mid-nineties 6Es, so having the rebuild already done with newer components is a big plus. I put a new DID o-ring and sprocket specialist sprockets on it less than 500 miles ago (-1 front).

As you can tell, even though it is my friend's bike, I know most of the history and have at least been involved with much of the work, so feel free to ask questions directly to me. The bike is currently at my house in Grapevine, but any negotiations, etc. would need to go through Sean.

I can be reached at 469-235-7549 or nathanvf1000f@yahoo.com . Pics coming soon.
