If I'd have gotten around to getting this mounted up on my SV, I probably wouldn't be in the ticket situation I'm currently in. So, I'm posting for sale my gently used Passport Escort 8500 radar detector since I won't be needing it in the near future (can't afford any more tix so no more speeding). Yes it works great with no problems and no, this is not the X50 version. It has a red display and is fully programmable yet very easy to use and highly effective. It has saved me from COUNTLESS tickets...in my truck.

Included:
Escort 8500 Radar Detector
Hard travel case
Owners manual
Smart Cord power cable
Windshield mounting bracket
NEW suction cups
NEW Escort Auxillary speaker

Check out the 8500 manual here: ttp://www.escortradar.com/pdf/8500manl.pdf (http://www.escortradar.com/pdf/8500manl.pdf)
Auxillary Speaker: https://www.escortradar.com/cp/cgi-bin/cp-app.cgi?&pg=prod&ref=speaker

Assuming it's pretty clean and fully functional... I'll take it.

Don: Trust me...you can still get tickets with radar installed on the bike...I know this first-hand (and second...and third...). When you come over a hill, or around a tight corner, if he's there, the radar and the flashing lights all come on together.

But...if the radar can help you cut down the odds, now there's the pay-off !

If you get mad at it and sell it, it's unprotected se...I mean speeding. Where's the logic in that ?

The radar might go off and alert you to check your speed because there's someone in your vicinity interested in knowing how fast people are going. Remember, radar detector companies sell their units with the intention of people getting a heads-up to pay extra attention to their speed, not as a tool to intentionally speed. ;) This might save you a ticket even if you're not intentionally speeding. In the real world, you might be going faster than the speed limit at any given moment where there happens to be a speed trap.
