Here we go again...buy a Porsche, pull a "Massey" and disappear. The Duc and Kaw are already up for sale...the MV will follow soon. No hitch on the back of that baby.

Beautiful car. Congratulations !

Very nice 996. If you think farkles for that MV are expensive, wait till you start modding the Porsche! ...but soooooo much fun!! Suggest a set of PSS9's and Fabspeed exhuast to start with. There's a nice free mod for the airbox too. :mischief: A short throw shifter is a must too. And, and, and, and..... LOL Keep the cats unless you want to sound like a riced out Civic. :o

Oh... and it handles different form any other car. If you get sideways, stay on the gas, if you lift, you'll spin out. :o

Well, any "big motor" car is gonna get light in the rear when you lift the throttle in a hot corner.

The old 911s were... unforgiving in that department.

Thanks for the compliments every one. I can tell you now with authenticity that dreams do come true :). This was my dream car from childhood.

This baby is a rocket drove back from Houston so much HP it hardly require to shift to be able to slap everything else on the road 3.6L flat six 330HP.
Took it to *55 on I-45 and asking for more and more pretty scary.

It came with all the options Porsche has to often I mean everything including 19'' wheels.

Michael we need to sit on a beer and discuss all the mods and rest of it.

Bill & Sean: I still have X5 4.4i for hauling and soccer Mom duties and all I need is a good car trailer and park it at my work. No need to put all those unnesseary miles in transit to twisty roads.

LS 400 for work duties.
911 is to hunt squids on gixxers.:lmao:

Can't wait to take this baby to Arkansas and cresson.

Ok out driving it's full moon :yippee:.

Looking at 445 BHP after supercharger instalation  equivalent to 997 Turbo.

Do lots of research on that... the one that used replacement fuel injectors and a reprogram of the stock computer (Evo) have a better history than the ones that use a piggyback 'puter and 7th injector (TPC).

The mack of them all (IMHO) is the Ruf and they are located right here in Dallas. Visit their shop, prepare to drool, and bring that Platinum AmEx.

I consdierred all the options and choose to stay NA. I'd rather wait for a 997S or a 02+ GT3 or GT2 to be with in my reach (not gonna happen). ...But that's just me.

Totally agree with you guys. Went to RUF Today spent about one hour with Hans. Starting out with the following:

Power intake plenum 25hp 22 torque
Sport exhaust system or fabspeed 14hp 12 torque
K&N race filter 3HP 1 torque
Blue tooth Turbo upper console
Aluminum race pedals
Masha GT2 Carbon wing and complete rear lid.
Ruff lowering kit and suspension top fun mod.
GT2 Gages. GT or turbo front and rear bumper.
Want short shifter kit but still researching not many owners have them, is it something which needs dealer installation?
Stage two clutch with RMS.

Car is a blast as is though I am very satisfied all above mention is a plus.

Turbo will come on its due time for that dollar amount lots of Italian choices also:mischief:. Need to keep other vehicles otherwise will pick up tomorrow, but ever dog has its day ;).

Michael you were correct about top dolla for Porsche  but having lot of fun with the baby gonna get better for here onwards. Ronnie please pm me your buds contact info I will be needing it thanks.

Short shifter is an easy install. I did mine in about an hour. There are two basic types, in cab and under chasis. The in cab is most common and easy, and the after market is exactly the same as the Porsche option part (Porsche rebadge).

Fabspeed all the way for exhuast. Again, easy install. Those claimed HP gains aren't felt, but the sound is addicting and will make you drive more aggresivily just to hear it.

Never heard of installing the intake plenum on a NA car, but cooler intake air is never a bad thing. The RUF plenum is just sex.

The K&N filter... be extremely careful when servicing it. The Porsche MAF sensor is very sensitive to the oil. Be very light when coating the filter. The sensor is cleanable with electronics cleaner like "Big Bath", but read the lables and watch for those that attack plastic.

There are a couple of mods to the airbox that can be done to get more air flow and about .75 liters of volume. Check out the Fabspeed websight and look at their kit, it's simular, but free. The other option is the Evo airbox but if FI is in your future that would be a waste.

I have an ODBII connector with laptop software that can measure acceration in each gear, plus measure 1/4 mile times and read your O2 sensors to get b4 and after affects of each mod. It's made by Auto Enginuity. Works on all ODBII systems, including CAN systems. Allows for reading and clearing all engine codes too. Great tool.

Thanks Michael ok Fabspped it is. So with the short shifter gear feel shift is harder or smother compare to stock ****er? I know it reduces the play in a shift but hard shifting is bit harder?

Check out GT2 Masha CF Spolier:

So with the short shifter gear feel shift is harder or smother compare to stock ****er? I know it reduces the play in a shift but hard shifting is bit harder?

It shortens the throw to each gear by about 20%. Shorter throw equals more effor due to reduced leverage. That said, in the case of my car (B&M shifter), it made the shifting buttery smooth compared to stock. The 996 is very sensitive to shifter adjustment and I had 60k miles on it when purchased and it was out of adjustment to start with (didn't know). I did not have the special tool for guaging the adjust so I coon-adjusted the B&M until I got the desired feel. Never realized how bad the adjustment was out b4 the B&M install. B4 I had very hard 2-1 shifts, after = silk. I could rest my elbow on the center console and use my fingertips/ wrist.

So... if yours is well adjusted now, you'll have more effort. If you are not a very aggressive driver, there's no bennifit beyond the look of a shorter shifter.

There is also a billet connector to replace the stock plastic one. The plastic can break and the billet also makes the shift more precise.

Shall be get into anti-sway bars? Gotta go GT3 bars with the billet connectors too!! :mischief:

The turbo and the NA car have completely different blocks. the Turbo is more stout.

MHO would be to enjoy this car with a few mods for fun to make it "yours", then trade up to the Turbo when ready. There are kits for up to 700hp for it!! ...but I sure do like that RUF blower.... and the engine warranty that comes with it.

Hey F2, glad you're salivating over the new ride. Rarely look in this forum, happened to catch it on the main forums and thought you had a new kiddo.

Check out the Rennlist forums (http://forums.rennlist.com/rennforums/index.php), some good info there. You may also want to consider joining the PCA, I hear they got a range of folks from squids (like you :lmao: ) to the racers and they put together some track days. I see a bunch of P car guys at MSR, from the 964 to the GT2/3 and even some Carrera GTs. Looks like you've got your shopping list all figured out, but you may want to see some of these mods and the alternatives before jumping in. Remember that reliability suffers when you increase boost and as Mikyl points out the non-tt engine is not made to handle drastic increases in power.

To me, the 996 never had much appeal, it was missing some quintessential things that defined a 911 in my mind: flared haunches, whale tail, oil cooled, edgy character, etc. The 993 was the one for me.
http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v233/brokenwarlock/993/993_Curves4.jpg

I never had much time for the car, it sits for weeks or months in the garage. Reckon, once I'm done with racing bikes I'll look into tracking the car. I've always got my kicks out of putting the investments into myself (track time, tires) rather than the machine, so my near stocker will never look as blinged or pony'd as yours.

I would love to have one of those next to my 996 I have seen few cars really neat and very modest price but high millage low millage newer 993's like yours are still very pricey. Gotta love air cooled 993's  .

I am not planing to do anything drastic as for as mods are concerned but plan do to some regular engine/exhaust interior exterior body & suspension mods ordered parts on Friday ;).

I do plan to upgrade to Turbo if or when time is right.Need to take this baby on track. Thanks for the info mate I will drop by your pace some time got to drive air cooled p-car :).

Congratulations F2! Seems the Duc boys have an eye for high bred machinery. I picked up a 997S (seal grey/cocoa full leather) a few months ago, still in the bonding stage with it. (Quite a departure from the panzer 928...still love her though.)

I've been looking at mods as well, but want to get to know the car better. So far it looks like the short shifter will be the first mod. The pipes are really for sound, like Michael said, and I'm leaning toward Europipe, Tubi, or Fabspeed. Jason at Park Place is quite knowledgable about performance upgrades, and Park Place will stand behind the upgrades they do. He mentioned reflashing the ECU, headers, and pipes for 390 horses on the S (seems high to me).

Why don't we meet up at Ruf soon. Perhaps talk to Ronnie's buddy for a mini group buy? You out there Massey?

I have placed order for parts already might be going with M&K exhaust or G&L. Fabspeeds are too quite heard them in person only opens After 5k RPM. 997S need a decent wing too I ordered Misha GT2m wing awesome you want wing? I got aluminum race pedals also still need to discuss plenium mod and suspension wit Ruf Gonna upgrade to Turbo wheels next month. Give me a call any time you are free we will go there 214208 three four two one.

Cocoa interior looks wicked. I need a body good body shop to paint my upcoming wing? 395 HP on S is possible but you need some serious air intake and plinum mod not just with exhaust and ecu re flash I will research your other exhaust vendors.
