I know, I know. I test rode a RSV at AF1's open house this year.

Miykl, I'm working on some things to get to a financial point of being able to afford a new ride. I want to get to a certain point before pulling the trigger on anything (there's a possibility of an excellent salvage deal going but I'm not holding my breath). That's why I figure about 6 months. I waffle between going 100 lbs heavier or 100 lbs lighter than my rex. Heavier being the C14, lighter being a "real" sport bike. :D After our IBI, I'm currently leaning towards the 100 lbs lighter side. :mischief:

I wouldn't turn down an offer, but maybe we can do some business a little later.

Carl... seriously... consider the ZX14. You'd be suprised at what a great sport bike it really is. Best comprimise betwen sport tourer and dedicated sport IMHO.

Hmmm...let's piece together the clues. Italian, ST, trade RSV...

I'm guessing it would be transacted at a Ducati/Aprilia dealer...and the new guy is a ST3 (2007). If older model, perhaps ST2 or ST4(S). Anywhere close?

Once upon a time I had a ST4 (916 motor). Not a bad bike at all.

Ding, ding..... 2007 ST3S :D. RSVR will go to Eurosport this Saturday in stock form (stock aside for the cored pipes and MapII). It'll sit there on cosignment until I'm cleared to ride again or I say screw being "cleared"! :happyrider: :mischief: ....at that point I'll likely just take the hit and trade it in. Ya... hopefully this guy is more than just a tire kicker, but from what I was told he was already in the market for an Ape and was looking at an 04 for not much less that what I quoted him.

The ST3S will wait if I private sell the RSVR. Gotta get my :2c: right and one less note will go a long way towards that goal. ...besides... the 999R needs Pistal HC pistons, headwork, blueprinting, custom PCIII map, ......, ....,:mischief: (jk)

...and I've really been missing my Porsche lately...

Geez...you must have that thing paid for by now.

After owning my Tuono (briefly), I must say Aprilia makes a great bike, but the resale value sucks. Too bad they don't have a stronger dealer network here. Most folks are afraid to buy one because of the stories about poor dealer support. At least we have AF1 sort of close here in Texas. I wouldn't be afraid to buy another one some day, but I think I would look for a nice [gently] used one.

Anyway, hope the sale works out for you!

Easy to figure out.

Ask yourself this question:
If your house was "paid for", would you get a home equity loan & invest the money???

That's a big one for me. I put a good portion of my check in my 401K (my only investment at this point). Our choices are very limited. The past few months it's lost nearly as much as the company match. :( ..that's my motivation to diversify away from the 401K and get some professional help.
