Does it, or does it not have a monitor with it. The site isn't too descriptive about the monitor they show in the graphics.

I'm buying a unit for Mom for Christmas and haven't picked one or bought one yet, this would fit the ticket nicely!! Don't need a monitor or all the other stuff since we have it already. Andre, if you don't want it, post up!

Mike, why are you selling it? Is it totally new, or a refurb? Missing anything in particular (upgrades that any typical person would want to do immediately?)

Naw... no monitor.

It's totally new in the box.... I had 2 extras, Albie picked one up, and I have 1 left.

Do you guys know if old Microsoft Office will work with Vista, I have no idea?? Wasn't planning to buy her a $200 software package, and it shouldn't take too much to get her existing computer up and going. Let me know so I can decide. Might just go ahead and pick this one up for myself otherwise.

The answer is format that sucker and load XP up on it, cause Vista sucks.

Gary will need at least a 14.4 modem installed so he can surf at high speed. :yippee: Anything less just won't do.

Preloaded Software
Includes Microsoft Works, Microsoft Office 2007 Student and Teacher Edition (60-day trial), Muvee Autoproducer, Roxio Creator 9 Basic, Roxio MyDVD 9 Basic, HP Photosmart Essential 2, HP DVD Play 2.4, and Symantec Norton Internet Security 2007 (with 60 days of Live Update).

How much would it cost to keep the trial software??

Using Office 2007 is like learning a whole new software. If "mom" is resistant to change she'll hate it. Plus it is not completely backward compatable with older versions of Office (file format) unless you install a "compatability kit" on the machine running the older version of office to open documents created in 2007. Personally I hate 2007 (and not fond of Vista), but run both on one machine just for keeping up with the latest cr*p.

We are going to work on the existing system first--mom wants some other extra stuff and my budget is getting tight!! Thanks for holding it for me!

Okay Gary, if you don't want it let me know. I'll take for my 10 year old. His computer just crashed and I don't even want to mess with it.
