AMS is hosting a trackday at Cresson on Sunday November 7.
I just called them up and get registered. There is plenty of space as of today for whoever wants to get in. WWW.Advancedmotorsports.com is their website.
It is a little more expensive than Ridesmart - $179, but seems like a well organized day. They promise 10-1 instructor to rider and Jeff Nash will be out there so it should be pretty good. Classroom time is included. They also will refund your money if its canceled due to weather, so safe to sign up if you are hoping to go.

Only other thing to note it is it :"European Bike" track day only. The guy I talked to at AMS said anything except a Japanese bike is ok. Im not sure why they make that restriction, but I'm just the messenger.

Anyway, I'm confirmed and looking forward to it...will be running my monster with the novice group....hope some of you decide to join in.

Dave

Ok I just talked to Maggie @ ECR

Dec 5th - Sunday

"We will be having our 3rd annual ECR Toy Run! Cost is $50 per rider and a new unwrapped toy, and a can good. So come on out and help us support the families who not as fortunate as others. To register you can call or email me at one of the links below. Track will go hot at 9am and run until 12pm. We will do lunch from 12pm until 1pm. The tracking will resume at 1pm until 5pm."

She said it will be like all the other track days. 3 groups and I need to email here to get on the list. She said it usually fills up quick so we need a list of names and I will email her so we will all get in.

I will still try to do the Sunday with ya Dave.

Does he want to rent an MV Agusta for the Day? :happyrider:

I am sure he does, but if it goes down he can't afford it, nor can I or I would ride yours and he could ride mine.

I've confused you. Sorry. I have seen a Buell at an AMS day.

Eurosport Cycle in Fort Worth is having a track day on that Monday.

Jeff wants only twins and maybe a triple at these. He says they teach you how to use the torque of a twin and it really doesn't work with fours. Beulls, RC51s, SVs, and TLs are OK. Yeah, some of us have been run off for showing up with fours, don't ask.

Dave,

The only website I can find that rents is:
http://www.sportryderrentals.com/

Nothing on there will work as the Duck is just too much for Joe. I know the website you mentioned I thought had more to choose from. Can you post up a link to a better one?

What they don't want is the "average Suzi rider" showing up. I generally like both the AMS and Eurosport track days MUCH better than usual track day orgs. In general, people who pay a premium for European brands, tend to be more cautious about tossing them down the track. A certain yellow duc excluded. ;)

Watch for the stick-on helmet Mohawk. Sometimes has plastics with 999 instead 749....to confuse the popo. :p

So why doesn't Ben ride with the Mohawk all the time?

Joe can handle all of those. The BMW F800GS would be good for him.

It was not the bikes it was the cost. 140$ plus the 180$ for the trackday is a "no go" for Joe. Hey that rhymed. :whyme:

Chris you going to join us?

Probably not. It's hunting season... I also gutted my airbox, so I need to rejet and I don't know when I'll get to that.

Dave I know AMS doesn't tell you about bike prep, but you will need to:

Check all your fluids. Make sure they are clean for tech. Check the chain is not too loose or tight, check brake pads/rotors.

You will have to remove or tape up your, rear view mirrors, headlights and tail lights. If you don't have any blue tape I got some I will bring and you can tape it when we get there.

AMS said track prep is same thing as Ridesmarts. I dunno why they don't list it?

Motorcycle Preparation

ALL MOTORCYCLES MUST PASS TECHNICAL INSPECTION PRIOR TO ADMITTANCE TO THE TRACK.

Front and rear brakes in good working condition
Motorcycle must not leak any fluids
Ethylene Glycol based coolant is allowed
Self-closing throttle in good working condition
Handle bar mounted, fully functional kill switch/button
Tire tread at least 50% of new condition 1
All glass and reflective surfaces must be taped over fully 2
Brake lights must be disabled 3
Side stands are allowed.
All valve stems must be capped
Wheel balance weights must be secured to the wheels
License plates must be removed or taped (including bolts)
Any other mechanical issues which may render riding the motorcycle unsafe must be fixed.

NOTES:
1a. Discolored tires due to excessive wear will be disallowed.
1b. Our on-site tire service will have a selection of tires to provide riders an opportunity to pass technical inspection (fees for products/services apply).
2. Entire surface of light glass or reflective surface must be covered.
3. Brake lighting must be disabled by removing fuses, or other methods to prevent activation of the light.

Thanks Brandon....I should be in good shape since I had my 7500 mile service done by AMS recently. I have some blue tape and my mirrors are easy to remove.

Why do I need to disable my brake lights if I am taping over them?

I assume they will be able to help me adjust my tire pressure at the track?

I may head out for a little 'warm up' ride on Saturday if anyone is interested....

Cause when you brake it will still light up. Tape also keeps parts from going every where should you go down.

We can get you pressure at the track. If you have a little air tank bring it. I will bring a gauge I have got, once you get the tires hot we can check them.
