This is a shot looking to the South.
That's where the outhouse is going once my contractor gets to the lot with the skid steer and his 3' auger.

We managed to thin out a few trees after we got the outhouse modified that day.

That's another picture of that brush pile from the same angle as in post 50. Notice the missing tree in the foreground? It was poplar about 14-15" in diameter.

Just another shot from beside the trailer looking into the lot. It's starting to look thinner and thinner in there every time we take a picture.

That's me cutting up that big poplar that disappeared in post 52.

I'm down to just cutting a few blocks and then limbing up the top to go in the brushpile at this point.

Here's a little video of a big poplar we took down that day.

George was on the saw at the time. The wind was blowing and he's got way more experience at this than me.

Just before the tree finally goes, you can here him stop the saw and then start up again a couple of times. He was watching the notch in the tree open and close on the saw bar and only cutting when it was opening.

Watch careful when the tree falls, the bottom kicks up over George's head.

This picture turned out nice. We found a rotted out log that made for some entertaining fires.

Alright. Outhouse construction begins in earnest.

Ruth has been after me to get this thing done since before we even parked the trailer at the lake. Moving the trailer to empty holding tanks is a pain in the butt. This will eliminate use of water in the trailer for all but washing dishes and hands.
We already head over to the campground to shower.

This is Trevor my contractor making short work of digging the outhouse hole.
He was pretty interesting to watch. He hit some rock and watching him work that rock out of this hole with a 3' auger was impressive.

Even after the hole was dug. I had to do some shovelling.
MY GOD I HATE DIGGING DIRT. Of all the rotten physical labour jobs in the world, manning a shovel has to be the worst.

Ok, the hole is dug. Now it's time to get the ****ter where it belongs.
The only problem is that Trevor's forks aren't long enough on his skid steer.
So we tilted the forks back as far as they would go and I kept it balanced there.
Never occurred to this stupid Canuck redneck to use a couple of straps to hold it on the forks.

Ok, the building is on the floor. I had built the floor separate so I can put it in place and level before dropping the house on top.

Now it's time to finish the inside framing and attach the top to the floor.
As you can see, I wasn't building a church when this thing was put together. It has a particular purpose in life and that doesn't require a great deal of accuracy nor asthetics in it's construction.

I really wanted the hole this deep so I'd NEVER have to worry about it ever needing pumping out but we hit rock with the auger and couldn't go any deeper.

Ruth snaps a picture of the first occupant on their way OUT the door. Apparently she was in a hurry and moving to fast to catch on the way IN the door.
Notice the happy look on her face as a result of the fine craftmanship she just had the opportunity to make use of?
Or, it could be that's she's smiling because she knows she's the one and only person that's going to get to use that thing when it doesn't stink.

Here's the last picture I'll share of that day.

By this point some intoxicants had been enjoyed and I decided I had had enough of that **** squirrel.

Apparently I'd had plenty because I couldn't hit the little bastard and he was all of 15 yards away.

I've got a couple of those. And a Texas flag and a bunch of other stuff. When I get the place done, I'm going to put a Welcome to Little Texas sign at the road.

Here's some proof I actually rode my bike up there.
Notice the helmetless rednecks on the quad in the background.
