Let's hope no smoke! It wasn't as bad as I thought. Finished up today. Had to buy a 2 foot screwdriver to get at the front aribox screws. Once inside there was only a small amount of grit. Of course any grit is bad, and still no telling how much it ingested. I cleaned the Ducati "race" filters. They make a K&N's filter element look like an airtight barrier. Just a few pieces of thread sanwhiched between metal mesh. Will pick up a proper filter Saturday. That 1 HP I'll lose bothers me none. ..oh... and it seams working on the Duc isn't so bad with the proper tools and enough light that you don't need a flashlight in your mouth...

...anyway... so.... when's the next AR trip????

I was enjoying the Duc more the day I wrecked it than any other day. Way things go I guess.... just when you start feel'n good... But as for the Duc being more fun than any other Jap bike? I guess we all have our lusts. I still think my old 97 TLS was the most fun bike I've owned...

YES!! The Duc is sitting ready to go wearing a fine set of rattle can flat black painted Sharkskinz and a DP fairing stay complete with race wiring harness. Quite the snazzy set up.

My prelimaray repair estimate came in today... you can buy a NEW 999 for less.... ...found some hidden damage, hence the tear down last night and today. I wanted to be sure it would be safe for Sunday. Thumbs up!
