Lots of TSBA'rs were there, and a few made purchases. Cressa now "needs" a handgun "cause all the other girls have them." ..Ever been gun shopping when a major concern was how well it fit in a purse!?!?!

I made it out for a grand total of $25 including entry for two.

OH!! Ask to see my or Scout's new car holster. Great idea and the guy was a gent.

S&W .38. Because it's a revolver, it's too "thick" to conceal in a jacket or jeans pocket, but it's small and easily concealed in a purse.

At the next range night, Cressa should try my Keltec 380. 6+1, magazine, compact enough to easily conceal in a jeans or jacket pocket. That's usually where I carry. They make a .32 that's even smaller and a bit easier to handle.

The drawbacks with the smaller weapons: Either lousy power, lousy controlability, or both. My Keltec is pretty usable at 3-5 yards, but it's a handful to control (as you know having fired it), and with double action only, it takes some practice to get much accuracy -- not just your first shot's aim is trigger pressure compromised.

we saw a ton of those POS Keltecs. I wouln't use one as a fishing line weight.

She'll likely end up with a 45. Sorry if my wife can handle more gun than you.

How are you going to stuff *that* in a purse? A handbag, sure, but a purse?!?!

Oh...and I have a S&W 38 special snub nose. Like it, but second shot accuracy is not there. ...upside is with a 38s a second shot isn't a huge concern if the first shot lands it's mark.

As usual I'll bow to your superior intellect.

I saw at least 30 test fitted. There are those that will fit.

The only reason I didn't get that was the "thickness".

I wanted a carry gun for when I was wearing jeans and a t-shirt and walking to dinner with the wife in deep ellum at night -- that sort of thing. It's easy to conceal when you are in a suit and carrying a briefcase (or on a bike and have a tankbag). But, I'm not usually dressed that way (the suit) anymore. And ironically when I am, I've usually flown somewhere to see a customer and I don't have a firearm with me, anyway.

(I wouldn't carry at a customer site even if I could fly that way just so I didn't run the risk of creating ire... outside Texas, the carry debate is still alive and well!)

So, keltec it was. Pretty much the only single-stack, magazine 380 I could find. It's far from my favorite, but it is compact and easily concealed.

Well, of course, depends on the size of the purse!

There's the Kimber Ultra Carry. I've not fired one, but the guys at the range said it was a bit of a handful to manage, being a 45 and so compact.

Kimber makes a nice weapon, though, that's for sure!

Should have hit a gun show or two b4 buying. Tons of single stacks to be had not much larger than your Keltec.

For Cressa's purposes, the pull to charge the keltec is way too heavy. A larger (thicker) slide gives more leverage. ...plus I thoroughly *hated* shooting yours.

On my very short list. Might have found an alternative at just about the same size and a double stack! (still a 45) AND at HALF the cost!!!

I would have been there, but being the anniversary weekend, there was no way I was getting a pass for a gun show!

The Keltec's are cheap too. If I find something I like better I'll not think twice about just putting it in the dresser drawer. I think I only paid $250 or so for mine.

Amen on that. The pull on that Keltec is probably twice that of my HK 9mm. And, the Keltec is double action only, so there's no 2nd shot advantage. Every shot is a full pull.

Really? That's hard to believe. 10 .45 shells by themselves are almost bigger than the Keltec!

I gotta see this gun, then.

It's about 1.5X the Keltec. ...still quite small. I'd put it near equal the Kimber ulta carry.

So, not jeans pocket concealable, here? Would imprint too badly I assume?
