    Post No cost report yet

Sorry everyone. Had another long day and night seeing patients, but I should definitely have a cost report posted later this early evening. On another note, the sweeper truck looks to be confirmed 100%. Will also post details of sweeper truck as well.

Post Trip Cost and Expenses Report

Will post up a more detailed cost report for trip. But here is a rough estimate.

Mexico permit about $35.00 for 6 months or if like last year it is free if you are only staying for a week in Mexico.
If you want Mexico Motorcycle Insurance for 1 week is $60.00

Total round trip miles for trip is about 1585 miles.
so depending on your MPG gas expense will vary. will try and find out how much petro cost in Mexico, last year is was about $2.85 per gallon/or liter if I'm correct.

we take toll roads for safety and speed! tolls each way are about $120.00 or about $240-$250.00
rooms in Toreon about $90.00 1 night stay
Durango about $90.00 q night stay and
Mazatlan between $80.00-$230.00 per room per night.
If everyone split rooms between 2-4 people per room alot of money can be saved.
In Mazatlan one group rented out a suite for $235.00 per night and about 8 people stayed together saving lots of money.
will also put up names of surrounding hotels or hotel where we will be staying.
Rest of expenses is for food and entertainment.
hope you can make it, it is a really an experience to remember.

    Mexico Permit $35.00
    Mexico Insr. $60.00 optional
Fuel for bike $????? cost varies
    Tolls $250.00
motels $180.00 cost est. at 2 person booking@45.00 p/p per nite

TOTAL $525.00 minus fuel and food and entertainment

I estimate that I used about 44 gallons of fuel on the ZX14.
Round trip miles were 1540 miles averaging 35 miles per gallon= 44 gallons,
44 gallons at about $2.80 gallon at last years prices =$124.00 fuel costs

Course if people book at 2-4 people per room or if anyone wants to all join in and rent a suite then expenses can be lessened.

Will soon post List of Hotels and costs of rooms that we will be staying at soon.

Thank you everyone for that will be trying to make this trip. As you can see the tolls are what will be probably be the most costly expense. Last year I believe that I spent less than $600.00 for trip, as Ricardo and I split costs for rooms. Food also is not as pricey as it can be ere in the US.

Post Mexico Insurance Info: Sanborn's Insurance

Please feel to post any information that you may need from me regarding this trip into Mexico. Also if anyone needs Mexico Motorcycle Insurance Sanborn's is the company that I used. I purchases 2weeks of insurance just in case as a worst case scenario I ended up spending more than one week in Mexico.

Cost was under $60.00 and included assistance for bail bond to get out of Mexico jail of anything concerning an accident occurs. FYI, if any blood is present after a wreck, that is enough evidence to warrant to put you into jail! That is what insurance company stressed!
They also give you free 1800 numbers to call from US phone as well as toll free numbers to call when you are in Mexico. They also give you map of Mexico which does come in handy as well as making a cool souvenir as it shows the winding road that we are going to ride.

They have offices in Dallas,Austin,Houston, and San Antonio and you can buy insurance online. Here is the link for anyone who may be interested. I really do recommend it as if anyone does have a wreck while in Mexico, you will have protection, unless your current policy already covers you. Enjoy!

No Thank You all! We had a very great time with everyone at the Aug. IBI and would like to see everyone again!
we had a great time in the hill country and I had such a blast last year in Mexico that I JUST had to put this ride together! Your hill country is just amazing!
But it is all together a different experience riding curves for 160 miles without too many straights! And I have not even mentioned all the beautiful pine trees that are everywhere amidst the clear blue sky! just an awesome experience!
