Default Much better than discussing bylaws

bump for a great idea for any chapter to try to put together for a TSBA meeting. Events like this are not only good for us but it drives attendance at meetings which drives value and resulting membership.

This is an important role I think TSBA could really drive.

Is Tom part of the police force in Houston? So often sport bike riders are at odds with the police because of squids that ruin our reputation as responsible riders. This type of coordination would help drive more awareness of safety and bring recognition by the police as to the nature of the TSBA as a "brand" that identifies "the good guys". I know I have seen plenty of bike nights where squids throw their horsepower and riding in the face of the police and frankly I was embarrassed by it. Not that it has to be a police driven event but if it were it could help us all forge a better bond with the folks we are thankful for when things go wrong.

Just my opinion. I get pulled over more when I am on my Kawi than my Triumph with bags on but they have been pretty cordial once they see the M on the license and up to date insurance. No tickets yet and I am overdue I am sure.

    A good idea worth stealing.

    Regards,
No, but I could probably recruit a couple to come with me if there is interest in hearing from them.

    Fixed!

Yall post some things up that you're interested in hearing about, I'll do my best to post some sort of agenda in the next couple of days.

Give thanks to Paul for pushing to get this in a meeting as a topic!

    Default Agenda ideas

OK, as a preliminary to the topics we can cover, here are some ideas:

"What's the first thing I should do when someone crashes a motorcycle during a ride?"

"When I'm in a rural area riding, does 911 still work?"

"What are safety priorities while attending a downed rider?"

"What do I do while I'm waiting for an ambulance to arrive?"

"What do I do if the rider is obviously dead?"

"Can I remove a helmet from the rider? Are there situations where removing a helmet is necessary?"

Anyone care to add to the list, just cut-n-paste it on your post and highlight what you'd like to add, or just post up questions/ concerns.
