Was anyone there? Anyone know how it went? I just got back from Kalifornia yesterday so wasn't able to make it. I looked around on the states website. Didn't see anything about it on the Transportation committee but saw it on the Public Safety committee. All it said was that it's Left pending in committee.

    UPDATE:
I just called the asst. clerk for the PUBLIC Safety committee the bill is pending in committee due to lack of support! There are several members of the committee that are not supporting the bill. I also found out that the BIKER lobby is speaking against the bill due to the helmet requirement. Although time is tight the bill can still go to the floor if the PS committee moves to vote out.
Write the committee members NOW and let them know you want to share the lanes and get TX moving. You also need to say that the TMRA2 lobbyist known as SPUTNIK does not represent Texas motorcyclists. He says Texans don't want this bill.

Ya...what texas motorcyclist really want is the wind across their bandana and a cold beer in their cup holder with ZZ Top blaring on the Hog full dresser....

...but them maybe those riders say "we" just want to ride stand up wheelies between cars during rush hour.

bah..it doesn't even matter. the voice of the people doesn't matter. it's all about which lobbyist shoves the most cash in the politicians pockets. And when you have a motorcycle lobby and the other lobbyist agaist the bill...it's just gonna die once again.

I just spoke to the PS Committee office again and I was told that to get movement on SB506 we need to FAX these people.
    * means these are probable non-supporters. One page FAX, no cover was suggested.

TSBA should write as a GROUP.

    Public Safety Member's FAX numbers
Rep. Tommy Merritt (512) 463-9085 --Chair
Rep. Stephen Frost (512) 463-0902 -- Vice Chair
    Rep. Lon Burnam 512) 463-1075*
    Rep. Joe Driver (512) 463-1481
    Rep. Phil King (512) 463-1957
    Rep. Tryon D. Lewis (512) 463-8067
    Rep. Barbara Mallory Caraway (512) 463-0476 *
    Rep. Eddie Rodriguez (512) 463-0314 *
    Rep. Hubert Vo (512) 463-0548 *

If these are your reps, call them if you want to split lanes legally.
