    Default Right on Red Ticket

So I got a ticket for "failure to stop at red light" in Fort Worth.
They sent me the ticket in the mail with 2 pictures of me at a light in the right hand lane turning right. The first picture shows my brake lights on at the light then me turning in the 2nd picture?

Anyone go this ticket before? Do these camera shot video or just take pictures? Just curious as it is does have video I want to see it as this was done a month ago and 2 if there is not video how can I prove that I stopped?

Says the ticket is a non-moving violation and no points will be assessed.

I'd have to go fight that one. If the picture shows the brake lights on, that's a stop in my book. As long as the intersection does not have a sign prohibiting a right turn on red, you did not do anything wrong...you stopped (brake lights on), then turned and proceeded on your way.

To my knowledge, the red light cameras are still photos only.

    Southlake website (google hit)

Using digital video cameras, the system triggers when a vehicle enters an intersection after the light changes to red. The first digital still camera captures two images (scene A and scene B). Scene A shows the vehicle prior to entering the intersection while the light is red and scene B shows the vehicle in the intersection while the light is red. The photographs display the time, date, and location of the offense. The second digital camera captures a close-up image of the rear license plate of the vehicle. And finally, the digital video captures 12 seconds of video, depicting the 6 seconds prior to and the 6 seconds following the violation. As a result of legislative changes that took effect on September 1, 2007, the Notice of Violation includes only one digital still image of the vehicle's license plate; however, a web link is listed on the notice to direct the recipient to a website where the 12-second video and other images can be viewed.

Arlington lets you log into a website that shows all the info they have (pics and Vids) with time stamp info. I'd think FTW would have the same.

Yeah I thought about that. Ticket is 75$ though, Plus this is a non moving violation. The lawyers won't take it cause they can't save out any cash or make any cash out of the deal. I am going to take a look at the signage at the light and see what it says.

Sad part is the last ticket I got for inspection I got dismissed cause it was fault of the DMV. Yet I still had to take a day off and pay 25$ after I got it dismissed in court fees. So I dunno if the 75$ is worth it. They know this and just hope that people will just pay.

Looking at Google Maps on Street view I can see that is use to be a turn only lane. The writing "ONLY" with the arrow use to be there and it looks worn off a little. Also instead of it being a dashed line all the way to the light turns into a solid white line about 50 feet before the light, indicating a turn only lane.

Although none of the lights indicate this. No right arrows lights, just the normal 3 lights.
