Default Lone Star Track Days 2013 Schedule

Lone Star Track Days has posted their 2013 schedule. Lone Star is in its 13th year of operation. Two key points differentiate this organization. First, is the quality of instruction. If you sign up for the Beginner or Advanced Rider's Course, you will have an assigned instructor. Second, the number of participants in each group is strictly limited to eliminate over-crowding on the track. This not only makes your event more enjoyable, but Lone Star considers it a crucial safety factor. The owners will not jepordize your safety just to add a few bucks to the bottom line. The owners have regular jobs. This is their fun, not their career.

LSTD Formats. Just to remind everyone, there are two different formats and that only TSBA members get a Discount!

    * Weekend Events (Saturday or Sunday)
On Weekend Events, the three groups are Beginners, Intermediate, and Advanced. A Beginners Course is available. It includes classroom instruction as a group and you will have an assigned on-track coach. The targeted student to coach ratio is only 2 to 1. During each classroom session, you will be introduced to a specific drill. Then you will go out on the track with your coach to practice that drill. After the on-track session, your coach will give you an assessment and pointers for improvement, if needed. Then you return to the classroom to discuss the drill and to learn about the next topic.

If you have gone through a beginner's course and are looking for a more tailored approach, sign up for the Advanced Course. You will have your own on/off track coach assigned to you (we are talking 1 to 1). Here you define the course, or you can just have your coach structure the day based upon their observations of your riding. Video is included and you can take it home to review if you supply your own SD card of Class 4 or higher. I have found that 16GB sized cards will capture your full day. 8GB is a minimum. The Advanced Course is available at ALL LSTD events.

    Friday Events
Although the Friday Events are a bit more focused on practice for the races to be held on the following Saturday and Sunday, there is an Intermediate Group for street riders. Additionally, LSTD does have the Advanced Course available for this group. There is no beginner group, so it is best attend the Saturday or Sunday events if you are new to the track.

Also, LSTD has TICKET DISMISSAL. Yes, you can satisfy the Texas requirements for ticket dismissal driver's education at the track. YOU MUST SPECIFICALLY REQUEST this via wade@lstd.com WELL IN ADVANCE, so that the appropriate instructor can be prepared for you.

Because of the long-standing relationship b/w TSBA & LSTD, we are the only organization to receive a discount from them.

To get it, first email wade@lstd.com with the details (name, TSBA #, date of the event, group you are registering for).

Second, go to LSTD.com and sign up. Wade will apply the discount when he runs the payment through.

Also, TSBA has several members who are instructors. Sign up for the schools to get the.most from your day on the track!

    We have TSBA member numbers?
Not sure I have ever seen my number since I have been here.
I was looking for my 2012 card to see if it had it on there but I can't find it.

Hover your mouse over your name and look down lower left. That small window that pop's up has your member number in it.

What Bryan said...if you are using IE, it shows in the status bar (lower left border) as a URL. It is the number, just in front of your screen name.

Was a fantastic day on Friday. Perfect weather and plenty of riders. Several got their racing license...Leeroy & Staton came 1st & 2nd in the mock race for the class. They were endurance racing today with Scott & Redford.

Kent, is this still the routing? I was under the impression that the discount had gone away. It was brought to my attention that it had not.
