Can't say first hand Tru. I don't know anyone that lives there either.
But it is close to a really good track.

She was thinking Round Rock or Pflughervill... but I think I convinced her Kyle "Plum Creak". I would be 9miles from Harris Hill. I might need to start squirrling away some Membership money!

OH! That one left a mark.

Look out folks! Truman may be coming to our back yard!

I'd pick Kyle over Round Rock or Phlugerville anyday. For one, your closer to SA, which is a better town than Austin anyways.

Actually, it puts you closer to the better riding (I.E. the Hill Country), including Harris Hill.

Don't be foolish. Get as close to your job as you can afford.
Austin traffic sucks.
You'll wish you were back in RGV after a belly full of these jackass drivers.

He speaketh the truth. I'd look at the commute. Also if you have (or plan to have) kids, take a serious look at the school systems. I know that Hays, Round Rock, Pflugerville, and Leander all have excellent schools.

I only ride in the back now because I have nothing left to prove... Even at slower speeds 2up, with bags, and on Shinkos... I have no chicken strips

Her main office would be Congress and 1st street. I35 to 1st then about a mile I think. Should be easy for her, shes use to driving in Reynosa and Monterrey. The comunity has the elementray, JrHigh, and HS all within 3 miles... and they are all State "Recognized" status.

How bad is the traffic in that zone????

That's pretty close to downtown so unless you live downtown, you'll be fighting traffic no matter where you live. It is on the south side of town, so if you are thinking about getting out in the 'burbs' Kyle is proabaly a good choice. I definitely wouldn't want to commute from Pflugerville or RR everyday to Congress and First because you'd have to grind through downtown twice a day.
You might want to look around southwest of town. Dripping Springs, Oak Hill, etc. At least from there you wouldn't have to battle I-35.
Again, I can't speak from personal experience, just offering ideas/things to consider.
Hope this helps...

Normally "no brainer" and "San Antonio" are synonymous...but not this time.

look at north Austin, off of Kramer and Baker. There are some pretty decent little neighborhoods in there. Large established trees, houses were built in the 70's and 80's large yards. but it is about 15 minutes from downtown 30-45 on a bad day. Also there is a Light Rail station on Kramer that will take you downtown during the week. Houses are in the 150-160k range.
